What this coursework is for: college, a trade, or a shop

Life Academy is a complete K–12 classroom for every U.S. state. You, the parent, are the school. You sign the diploma and the transcript. High school is the record colleges, trades, and shops actually read. That packet is how a homeschool student applies — even though we are not currently accredited.

Will a college look at this packet? Homeschool transcripts are a normal admissions path. Completing these weeks does not guarantee admission to any college, trade, or shop, and it does not make Life Academy accredited. What you get is a parent-signed record with the course names officers already know: English I–IV, Algebra I → Geometry → Algebra II, lab science, Spanish I–II, SAT or ACT scores. Colleges already have a homeschool box. Selective schools also like one outside score or a dual-enrollment class so grades are not only parent-assigned.

High school is the admissions record

Elementary and middle school build the student. Ninth through twelfth is what a college, a trade program, or a recruiter looks at. Eighth grade is Pre-Algebra. Ninth is Algebra I. Tenth is Geometry. Eleventh is Algebra II. Twelfth is Precalculus or Statistics. That is the on-grade college-prep ladder. Geometry stays in high school — universities expect it by name, not as a middle-school unit.

Pick a path — the core does not get weaker

Every high-school student takes the same college-ready core: English I–IV, Algebra I → Geometry → Algebra II, Biology → Chemistry → Physics, history, STEM, and Spanish I–II. Then they lean:

College / university
Add SAT/ACT practice and a fourth year of math. Spanish stays on the transcript.
Trade / technical
Same core so a university door stays open. Add Driver’s Ed and engineering/STEM shop work.
Business / shop
Same core. Add Business & Economics (included in every plan): ledger, EIN, LLC vs sole prop.

Choose the path in Classroom — it prints on the transcript. It does not replace Algebra II.

Target: about 22–24 high-school credits (English 4 · Math 3–4 · Lab science 3+ · Social studies 3–4 · Spanish 2 · STEM / Life Skills / electives). One year = one credit on the transcript. Spanish I–II is the language elective so two years of the same language print.

Not a regular-school photocopy

On this campus
Worked example, tap-and-try lab, quiz, teach-back — all on Life Academy. No Khan, YouTube, or PhET as the teacher.
STEM in the grade
Ramps in kindergarten. Python in ninth. Physics motion lab in eleventh. Engineering loop in middle school.
Papers when it is time
Little kids do phonics. English I–IV write papers in Paper Studio with MLA. That is what colleges ask to see.

Three honest exits

College Print the high-school transcript and diploma. Parent signs as school official / counselor. Upload to Common App or the college portal. Optional corroboration: SAT/ACT (skills practiced here; the College Board / ACT still give the real test), dual enrollment at a community college, a recommendation.
Trade / apprenticeship / military Same transcript. Grade 11 Life Skills inventories college vs trade vs work. Algebra, lab science, and a clean hours log still matter. We do not issue a union card or a recruiter waiver.
A real U.S. shop Business & Economics (elective, included in every plan): EIN, LLC vs sole prop, sales tax, a ledger. Driver’s Ed theory (included) for the transcript — the DMV still licenses. Spanish I–II (included) for the two years of language most universities want. Senior Life Skills covers tax forms in plain English.

What the parent actually does

  1. Run the grade (36 weeks). Friday mastery stays on this device.
  2. Open live transcripts. Credits and GPA fill from Classroom scores.
  3. Print. Sign as Parent / Teacher of Record / School Official.
  4. Keep a folder: transcript PDF, diploma PDF, Paper Studio essays, lab notes, SAT score report if they sit the real test.
  5. Follow your state’s homeschool notice and portfolio rules.
If they only buy high school (9–12), the same map still works. If they finish K–5, they promote into 6–8, then 9–12. Elementary does not carry Carnegie units. High school does.
