Last updated: October 16, 2026 · Applies to lifeacademyhomeschool.org and Life Academy virtual tutoring.
This policy explains what information Life Academy collects through lifeacademyhomeschool.org and tutoring, how it is used, and the choices parents have. Life Academy is a curriculum and virtual tutoring provider. The parent is the school of record.
Our promise: student information stays private. We use it only to run the Life Academy program (lessons, receipts, tutoring, and support). We never sell it, and we never share it with anyone for marketing or any other purpose. The only exceptions are the service providers named below, which deliver our forms and host the site and may use the information only to provide that service, and disclosures required by law.
1. Information we collect
Account information: the parent’s email address and a password (stored by our hosting provider’s login service, Netlify Identity; we never see the password), plus your plan, the grade you chose, and subscription status.
Information you send us: when you book tutoring, the form sends the name and email you enter, plus details such as product, amount, receipt number, the payment confirmation’s last four characters, the requested time and time zone, course, and topic.
Learning records: when you are signed in, lesson progress, assignment answers, grades, and mode settings are saved to your account in our hosting provider’s storage (Netlify Blobs) so they sync across your devices. A copy also stays in your browser.
Payments: payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s privacy policy. We receive your name, email, plan, amounts, and payment status, and the card brand and last four digits; we do not receive full card numbers.
Tutoring sessions: sessions run on Zoom or Google Meet under those providers’ privacy policies. Life Academy does not record tutoring sessions.
Read-aloud: the read-aloud feature uses your browser’s built-in speech engine to speak text on the page. The site does not use the microphone, and no audio is recorded or uploaded by Life Academy.
Ask the Tutor (in lessons): if a student types a question into the lesson helper, the question and a short summary of the lesson are sent to an AI service (xAI or OpenAI) to write an answer. Life Academy does not save these questions. The helper tells students not to share personal information.
2. Service providers
Form messages are delivered to david.dukes77102@gmail.com through a third-party form-forwarding service (FormSubmit). The site is hosted by Netlify, which also provides sign-in (Netlify Identity) and storage for learning records (Netlify Blobs) and may log basic technical data such as IP addresses. Payments are processed by Stripe. The site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only cookies are the sign-in cookies set by Netlify Identity.
3. How we use information
We use it to run your account and subscription, confirm purchases, schedule and run tutoring, answer questions, and keep business records. We never sell or rent personal information, and we do not share student information except as described in the promise above.
4. Children under 13 (COPPA)
Life Academy is meant to be used by children under a parent’s direction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
Parent-only forms: accounts, checkout, and tutoring bookings must be completed by a parent or guardian using the parent’s own name and email, not the child’s.
Consent before tutoring: before a child under 13 joins a live session, a parent must give consent by the parent booking and paying for the session from the parent’s own email. The parent arranges the session and may attend.
What we collect about the child: only what is needed to teach, such as a first name, grade, and course topic. We do not ask children for home addresses, phone numbers, or photos.
Parents’ rights: a parent may review the personal information we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, and refuse further collection by emailing david.dukes77102@gmail.com. We will verify that the requester is the parent before acting.
Accidental collection: if we learn we collected a child’s information without consent, we will delete it promptly.
Learning records: progress is saved to the parent’s account. A parent can ask us to delete the account and its records by emailing david.dukes77102@gmail.com.
5. Retention and security
We keep account, billing, and booking records for as long as the account is active and for 90 days after it is canceled, then delete them, except payment records we must keep for tax law. You can ask us to delete your account and records sooner at david.dukes77102@gmail.com. Access to the business inbox is limited to Life Academy. The site uses HTTPS. Parent sign-in is handled by Netlify Identity, and we never see passwords. Card payments are handled by Stripe; Life Academy never receives or stores card numbers.
6. Your choices and state rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at david.dukes77102@gmail.com. We honor requests to access or delete personal information from residents of any U.S. state, and we respond within 30 days. Student-records laws such as FERPA generally apply to schools. Because the parent is the school of record, the parent keeps the homeschool records.
7. Changes and contact
We will post changes here and update the date above. Questions: david.dukes77102@gmail.com · Life Academy, 1891 North Highland Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33755.
