Scheduling from Houston

Houston is on Central time. Tuesday Office Hours at 8 PM ET is 7 PM in Houston. Online sessions mean no fighting traffic on the 610 or I-10 for a lesson.

What families book

Math from early elementary through Algebra 1
Reading and ELA: phonics, comprehension, essays
Homework help and test prep for any school, public, private, or homeschool
Some college courses, nursing prerequisites, and GED

Why online works well in Houston

Greater Houston is huge. A 45-minute drive to a learning center for a 60-minute session is a real cost. Online sessions start on time from your kitchen table. Homeschooling in Texas? Start with the Texas homeschool guide. Families pay directly for now; Texas ESA tutoring isn't available with us yet.

Not in person

I'm based in Florida and teach only online. That keeps the price at $35/hour instead of learning-center rates, and it means sessions don't depend on traffic.

Who you'll work with

I'm David Clifford, the one person behind Life Academy. I've tutored for 8 years, worked as a substitute teacher for Pasco County Schools (including long-term assignments), and hold a BAS degree, cum laude. Every session is live, 1:1, with me, on Zoom or Google Meet. No AI tutor, no handoff to someone else.

Price

$35/hour. Your first full hour is $25. A 4-hour bundle is $130. Book at least 24 hours ahead; a free 15-minute consult is available first. Tutoring is sold separately from the homeschool plans. See the refund policy.

Not ready to book? Two free ways to see how I teach: free Math Office Hours (grades 2–8, a 30-minute live drop-in every Tuesday at 8 PM ET) and the free Week 1 of every grade in the Life Academy classroom, no card needed.
