How to Homeschool in Arizona

A plain-English starting point for Arizona families: the legal basics, a simple first week, and an online K–12 curriculum built to help you meet homeschool requirements.

Try Week 1 free Read Arizona law at HSLDA

Step 1: Know Arizona's homeschool basics

In short: File an affidavit of intent (with a copy of the birth certificate) with your county school superintendent within 30 days of starting. Arizona also offers the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program, which has its own separate rules.

For the current statute, deadlines, and forms, see HSLDA's Arizona homeschool law page. Statewide support group: AFHE.

This is a general summary, not legal advice. Homeschool laws change, and following them is the parent's responsibility. Check HSLDA or your state's education department before you start.
