Learn How it works

• Grade points: A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0. Pluses and minuses add or subtract about 0.3 (B+ = 3.3, A− = 3.7).
• GPA = total quality points ÷ total credits, where quality points = grade points × credits.
• Weighted GPA adds extra points for harder courses: commonly +0.5 for honors and +1.0 for AP, IB, or dual-enrollment college courses. Colleges usually also look at the unweighted GPA.
