🎓 Life & College Prep Grades 2–12
Typing Practice
Learn to type without looking. Start with the home row, then build speed with sentences and timed tests.
Learn How it works
- Home row: left fingers on A S D F, right fingers on J K L ;. Feel the bumps on F and J. Thumbs rest on the space bar.
- Each finger owns a column of keys. Return to the home row after every key.
- Accuracy first, then speed. Don't look at the keys, even if you're slow at first.
- Typical goals: grade 3–5: 15–25 WPM · grade 6–8: 25–35 · high school: 35–45+.
On an iPad, use a hardware keyboard for real touch-typing practice. The on-screen keyboard works too.
